(Updated 11:34 p.m.) Pedestrian Was Struck And Airlifted Near Teloga
(Update 11:43 p.m.: The suspected hit and run driver from the accident on McConnell Road near Teloga has been caught. The driver is 50-year-old James M. Gilliland, of Trion. He’s been arrested for DUI, failure to report an accident and serious injury by vehicle, according to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader.)
A pedestrian has been struck in a hit and run crash near Teloga this evening, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Kevin Woods.
A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Hwy. 337 and the Teloga area. The vehicle left the scene of the accident. However, around 9:20 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol has located the fleeing vehicle and has made an arrest.
The victim in the crash has been airlifted by a medical helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with serious injuries.
When will they release a name of the suspect?
