Unruly Tobacco Customer Leaves Without Showing ID

An unruly customer is being sought by Summerville Policeman after taking cigars without showing ID to a local gas station clerk, according to police reports.

George’s Kwik Service owner Churayu Patel said a customer refused to show their identification and walked out of the store with tobacco-related items Monday afternoon.

Video from a security camera shows a black female grabbing cigars and putting them on the cash register counter. The clerk asked for ID but the woman refused.

“She refused to give it to him stating that the worker behind the counter knew her and [she] threw the money on the table,” Officer Matt Wilson said.

The clerk grabbed the cigars and refused to give them over until she showed ID.

“The female then grabbed” more cigars and tossed $2.11 worth of change on the counter and left without showing ID.

“The owner also stated she was a penny short for the purchase. The subject working the cash register did get a picture of the tag,” Officer Wilson stated.

The case is still under investigation.

are we really not going to say anything about this cop wanting to arrest someone over one penny?
