Local Restaurant Featured In Regional Publication

The Willow Tree Grill, at 592 Hwy. 48, Summerville, is featured on the cover of this month’s Northwest Georgia Living magazine.

Writer Jennifer Almand, of Kingston, visited the restaurant and gave favorable reviews on her dining at the Willow Tree. The restaurant is owned by Kandy Keen and her husband Chris. Kandy dreamed of opening a restaurant while serving 25 years among the ranks of local law enforcement.

“It’s a tiny place but packs a big punch,” Almand said.

The author ordered fried shrimp and oysters and Almand’s husband had the catfish platter.

“The catfish was perfectly cooked, very moist and flaky. The fries were crunchy and expertly flavored. The hushpuppies tasted like sweet corn. The fried shrimp and oysters were excellent,” Almand wrote.

The Willow Tree is open every day except Sundays. They open at 11 a.m. each day.
