Woman Chases After Person That Crashed Into Her Vehicle
A Trion woman tried chasing down the person who crashed into her vehicle on Wednesday, according to Summerville Police reports.
Christy L. Coffia was traveling southbound on Hwy. 114 around 7:28 a.m. when a burgundy SUV turned in front of her. The SUV was heading northbound when it tried darting onto Montgomery Street.
The two vehicles’ collided at the intersection and the SUV took off. Coffia followed after the SUV even with significant damage to the front of her vehicle, according to reports.
“[Coffia] advised that she then followed the vehicle for several blocks and at one point the driver of the SUV even stopped and asked her if everyone was alright. [Coffia] advised that the white male driver then advised that he was going to turn around but that he sped away and did not return,” Summerville Police Lt. Tim Fulmer stated.
Coffia was driving a gray 2016 Ford Escape. Police could not find the other vehicle that sped away.
