They include: Stephen Allen Byrd Jr., 23, of Tennessee, was arrested for fighting Branden Thompson. “[Byrd] also damaged front storm door before the altercation,” Summerville Police Officer David Westbrooks stated. Someone forged a check belonging to a local Summerville business, according to Summerville Police reports. Mike Salmon, of S&S Butane Gas Services Inc., at 215 Hwy. 48, told cops Friday afternoon that someone cashed a bogus $2,401.18 check. Chattooga Animal Control Shelter Closed Until Thursday

The Chattooga County Animal Control Shelter on Red Oak Road will be closed Monday – Wednesday this week. A sinkhole that formed at the adjacent Summerville Wastewater Treatment Plant is causing some emergency repairs that is blocking the roadway.
